Casale della Torre a fabulous country house between the Tuscany hills, is located in Cortona at the end of the beautiful treed avenue called Parterre. There are not many other locations that give you such a view of the valley. It is part of an 8 hectare farm with olive trees and woods; it’s a perfect place for walking to discover nature. From windows and the gardens, you can see an unbelievable view of Valdichiana, Lake Trasimeno and Montepulciano. The colors change with the seasons: the green of spring, the yellow of the grain in summer, the red of autumn and the white of the snow in winter. Guests can spend their time looking at the unforgettable sunsets.

From the villa, it’s possible to reach the historical center in 10 minutes walking along the Parterre that is lit up for the evening. In the other direction, you can admire beautiful villas such as Bramasole, the home of famous author Frances Mayes. Also, in less than 20 minutes, you will arrive at Torreone, an old suburb under a medieval fortress called Girifalco. On this farm holiday you can enjoy the center of Cortona or relax at the villa in complete privacy.

The Casale is a fabulous country house today, but in the past, it was a windmill to grind grain coming from the countryside all around Cortona. The oldest part of the house dates from 1400. It was part of the land holdings called Palazzone whose owners were noblemen from Cortona.

The Casale is composed of two houses made of stone in perfect Tuscan style with wooden ceilings and tiled floors.

All around the houses, you can find olive trees, gardens with wild flowers and plants and also a garden with vegetables and aromatic plants from which guests may pick. At the Casale, there is a beautiful infinity swimming pool with a large deck area with lounge chairs to spend time under the Tuscan sun. There are also outside tables, a bbq and a lot of space for relaxation. This is one of the most requested Accommodations on our site.

What a wonderful experience! We rented the both villas at the Casale for one full month to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We invited family and friends to visit during the month and it was just terrific. The villa sits on the side of a mountain and the views are spectacular! The villas are completely remodeled every bedroom (5) has their own modern bath. The villas are air conditioned and the pool was very refreshing as the temperature rose! The owners, Paola and Lapo Salvatore are just the kindest and most welcoming people. Paola was also very helpful in making arrangements with the cathedral in Cortona to allow us to renew our wedding vows at mass! | This is a working farm, so chickens, a rooster and even a donkey are close by, which adds to the uniqueness of the villa. Lapo makes his own wine, lemoncello, olive oil and cheese and is most generous with sharing all with his guests! The weekly "family" dinners (every Wednesday) were very enjoyable and Paola's cooking, with Lapo's wine makes a wonderful combination! | The villa is about a 20 minute walk to the main area of Cortona but after a climb to the top of the hill it's a gravel, lit path that is an easy walk. We also found that driving to the beginning of the path was also very helpful since it take the steep grade out of the walk. Most of our guests did not have a problem, however.| If you are visiting Cortona (which I also recommend!) you really can't go wrong with staying at the Casale. You may arrive to the villa as tourists but you truly will leave as friends!

My family has stayed at Casale Della Torre 4 different years, we were10 people and it was very comfortable. Paola and Lapo are amazing. This Last time in July/August 2024 we had our meals there made by Paola and it was amazing and convenient better than any restaurant and more reasonably priced.It beat trying to move 10people around and finding a restaurant reservation
We have already put a reservation in for 2027 🤞

If you are going to Cortona or the surrounding area, you will want to stay at Casale Della Torre (CDT).|Along with my family, we have been staying here for 15 years. The Salvadori family is unique and unlike any other. The property is incredible and the proximity to town is beyond great.|CDT has whatever you need and the family is always happy to help with any bookings you may need help with. |The location is beyond perfect. Just enough off the grid so it is perfectly quiet but close enough that you can walk to town in about 20 minutes.|Cortona is close to many wonderful Tuscan towns like Montpulciano, Siena, Perugia, Arezzo etc. It's a two hour drive to either coast...|The pool, in the summer months, is without question the best feature.||This is my favourite place in the world!

My family and I have stayed at Casale Della Torre for the past 15 years. We love everything about it including the Salvadori family who is legendary in Cortona area. Everything about the houses is fantastic!
The walk to and from Cortona is amazing and proximity to many other towns is incredibly ideal. It will be hard to ever stay anywhere else....For us, it is home.

We spent six days at the villa in August 2023. Paola and Lapo, the owners, were just terrific... so warm, welcoming and generous. The views are beautiful, the pool was refreshing, our room was comfortable and the meals we were served were delicious. A wonderful stay.

We went to Italy to celebrate our upcoming 50th wedding anniversary. Our tour guide was a friend Allan Jenkins from Scotland, who has been running tours to Italy for a number of years. Our group consisted of Allan and 2 other couples, Don & Wendy and Paavo & Janet. We could not have asked for two better couples to share our trip with. We spent 7 nights at the Casale della Torre and could not be happier. There was plenty of space in both villas. A large kitchen in both. We only used the one and had breakfast each morning out on the porch, overlooking spectacular views of the surrounding valley between the hills. Each night we had spectacular meals prepared by our hosts Lapo and Paola. Each meal was truly Italian, with pizza, pasta, wild boar, shot by Lapo in the forest. This location is truly a piece of heaven. Thank you Lapo, Paola for sharing this beauty with us. We will be back.
